Australia’s health sector is moving rapidly toward digital transformation through a new partnership between global virtual care provider Caregility and local health technology firm MOD3RN Care. The collaboration aims to deploy a connected care platform across hospitals and community settings, addressing capacity pressures and widening access to clinical services.

Under the agreement, Caregility’s Connected Care platform will be distributed by MOD3RN Care, whose local expertise will ensure compliance with Australia’s privacy and interoperability standards. The system enables clinicians to monitor patients remotely, integrate virtual nursing into daily routines, and communicate in real time across wards, aged care, and home-based environments. Hospital adoption will proceed gradually as institutions evaluate system readiness and staffing requirements.

Industry analysts view the partnership as timely, amid increasing patient numbers, persistent workforce shortages, and rising expectations for more flexible models of care. “Hospitals need tools that lighten the load rather than add complexity,” a MOD3RN Care spokesperson said, noting the focus on staff support and patient experience.

Caregility executives said the collaboration is designed to build “smarter, more sustainable” care models that improve efficiency and reduce clinical burnout. Virtual care platforms can enable remote check-ins, support specialist consultations, and help clinicians manage larger patient groups without compromising quality.

However, experts warn that implementation will require careful integration with existing workflows and strong staff engagement. Some observers also expect intensified competition among smaller telehealth providers as larger partnerships expand their reach.

Despite these challenges, the initiative is seen as a significant step toward modernising Australia’s healthcare infrastructure. The move is expected to accelerate the adoption of scalable digital tools, attract further investment, and strengthen the country’s capacity to deliver consistent, technology-enabled care across its health system.
