The $65M Push to Make Virtual Care Truly Smart

Australian startup Heidi Health just pulled off a major milestone, securing a US$65 million Series B in October 2025 to turbocharge its AI-driven healthcare platform. The Melbourne-based company, now valued near US$465 million, has captured investor attention as hospitals and clinics race to ease workloads and improve patient care through automation.

Heidi’s system listens in on doctor-patient conversations, then generates structured notes, coded records, and care plans that normally consume precious clinical time. The company says its platform now supports more than two million consultations each week in 110 languages across 116 countries, handing back an estimated 18 million hours to clinicians in the past 18 months.

The round, led by Point72 Private Investments with backing from Blackbird and Headline, will fund expansion into the U.S., U.K., and Canada and deepen integration with both virtual and in-clinic workflows. The goal is to make automation a seamless part of everyday healthcare operations.

What’s emerging is a broader transformation. Virtual care is no longer just about video calls; it is about fusing connectivity with intelligent systems that adapt to clinical realities. As one co-founder put it, “It’s untenable that healthcare demand keeps rising while clinical time keeps shrinking.”

Still, the road ahead isn’t frictionless. Integrating AI into diverse health record systems, maintaining privacy safeguards, and demonstrating measurable clinical benefits remain significant challenges. But the direction of travel is clear.

For health providers, the message is hard to miss: automation is shifting from novelty to necessity. Heidi Health’s latest raise marks more than a financial milestone; it is a signal that the future of care may depend as much on algorithms as on empathy.
